West Ham can sign Boubacar Kamara on free after transfer admission

West Ham are still in the race to sign Boubacar Kamara who has decided to leave Marseille at the end of the season.

According to 90min, the Hammers have been joined by Arsenal and Aston Villa to secure his services. Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Atletico Madrid are also keen to land him on a free transfer.

The defensive midfielder has also admitted that he has already chosen his new club, but he didn’t reveal the name.

“I’ve made my decision, which is to not renew and to leave OM at the end of this season. I think it’s the best decision for the next part of my career,” he said, as quoted by RMC Sport.

The Hammers should not miss out on the opportunity to sign him.

The Londoners need to sign a new central midfielder in the summer. Mark Noble will retire at the end of the season, while Tomas Soucek is facing an uncertain future.

There is a need to replenish the void, and Kamara would be a solid addition.

The 22-year-old established himself key player for Marseille across five seasons in the first team, and broke into the French squad under Didier Deschamps.

Kamara also played a key part in taking his club back into the Champions League with victory on the final game, but that was his last contribution.

He has decided to move on. David Moyes is expected to get backing from the board in transfer window, and should look to get his deal done.

The young talented midfield could be the anchor the club need. He could forge a strong midfield partnership with Declan Rice in midfield.

Given his age, quality and availability, getting him on board is no brainer.

It would be a great piece of business from the Hammers if they can beat their rivals in the race for Kamara, but there’s strong competition for him.
