Robbie Savage backs West Ham United boss David Moyes but highlights the clock is ticking
BT Sport pundit Robbie Savage has applauded the tremendous job David Moyes has done at West Ham in his column for the Daily Mirror.
Moyes has been under the cosh for his poor start to the campaign and has been touted to leave the London Stadium should the appalling results continue.
Savage believes that delivering consecutive seasons of European football doesn’t “stop the tide” going out on Moyes, admitting the “currents haven’t been nice” to him.

Writing in The Mirror print edition (24 September, page 61), Savage said: “European football in consecutive seasons doesn’t stop the tide going out on managers under pressure – and the currents have not been kind to David Moyes.
“When bosses have a tough time, the critics tend to look back and make a poor run of results seem even worse by stretching back into the previous season. In the Premier League, the Hammers’ last 14 games have yielded just nine points.
“Reasonable fans will look beyond those stats and acknowledge the tremendous job Moyes has done. But I hope the tide does not go out on him too much further because I didn’t have West Ham in my bottom three before a ball was kicked in August.”

Worrying.
West Ham have looked dull, lacklustre and boring to say the least this season but Moyes deserves a chance to redeem the club’s fortunes and calls for his head are premature.
There’s a good cluster of fixtures coming up where the West Ham boss’ team can regain some confidence and more importantly points.
If then the results still aren’t coming in then questions need to be asked about whether Moyes has a future at the club or not.
Moyes does need to change the way the Hammers are playing, however, and after spending big on Maxwel Cornet, Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta the goals haven’t been flooding in.
Nothing less than three points will do against Wolves at the London Stadium on Saturday, hopefully, he can start to get the Hammers campaign back on track.
Another loss on Saturday evening will only add to the pressure and the scrutiny surrounding Moyes’ name, the pressure is well and truly on.
