West Ham board meeting set in new Julen Lopetegui sack update
West Ham will hold a meeting in the next 72 hours to discuss Julen Lopetegui’s future following the 3-1 defeat to Leicester City, according to Jim White.
The Spaniard is skating on thin ice after a series of disastrous results, most recently faltering at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday 3 December.
Premier League clashes against Newcastle United and Arsenal were crucial fixtures in Lopetegui’s future [The Guardian], but having now lost to a relegation-threatened side, fans are desperate for a change in leadership.
Speaking live via talkSPORT [4 December, 10:18am], White said: “It’s my understanding this morning that there will be a board meeting in the next 72 hours.
“Whatever is decided will be a joint board decision but at the moment, there is no real way of telling how it is going to go. If it was going to tip one way, it would maybe be in the direction of time is up for Lopetegui.”
David Sullivan to sack Lopetegui in West Ham United sack update?
Lopetegui was under pressure from the very moment he stepped through the doors at the London Stadium, with supporters massively unhappy with his appointment.
The majority of fans were happy to see David Moyes’ time at the club come to an end, but with several names available to take the job, Lopetegui’s arrival was met with groans.
That reaction has since been validated, with the Hammers currently sitting in 14th after 14 matches and are now just six points above the relegation zone.

Four wins in 14 games is just not good enough for a team such as the Irons. With the number of exciting transfers added to the squad in the summer, they should be in the top half of the table at the least.
Lopetegui is running out of time to prove himself in East London and he could be given the boot within the next 72 hours if White’s comments are to be believed.
