West Ham board held discussions with David Moyes after transfer failings
West Ham United failed to bring in any new faces in the January transfer window and David Moyes was not happy about it one bit.
The Irons spent the entire month searching for cover at centre-half and striker but ultimately didn’t make an addition in either role.
Since then, discussions have taken place between Moyes and the club’s owners David Gold, David Sullivan and Daniel Kretinsky to smooth over any fractious relationships between them.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Moyes has now accepted that attempts were made to bring in a new striker and has moved on from the situation.
“I think David Moyes had a certain sense of frustration over the way that it panned out because, ultimately, he did want more cover in defence and he wanted another forward,” Jones said to Give Me Sport.
“But, from what I understand, there were discussions in the fallout from the transfer window. He’s accepted the situation and he does appreciate they did try to sign a striker.”
Not ideal
It isn’t the dream scenario to have just one recognised number nine in the senior squad, no matter how good Michail Antonio is.

At 31 years of age, asking him to play all game, every game is a huge undertaking and one that could break him before it makes him.
He really needed that experienced backup to just take the load off him every once in a while but that role will have to be filled by either a winger out of position, such as Jarrod Bowen, or a youngster getting thrown into the spotlight.
Sonny Perkins and Armstrong Okoflex have both been in red hot form for the Hammers’ youth team but the step up from junior to senior football is enormous, especially to the Premier League.
It isn’t the end of the world though and Moyes has more than enough in his armoury to keep the top four challenge going right to the last game of the season.
Let’s not forget, Manchester United and Arsenal didn’t strengthen either.
