West Ham and London Stadium could host Champions League final
West Ham have ambitions of playing Champions League football next season but the London Stadium might hear the famous music sooner than that.
According to The Telegraph, the Irons’ stadium may play host to this season’s final with the current venue of St. Petersburg in doubt owing to the ongoing political situation between Russia and Ukraine.
The operators of the London Stadium have a gap in the programme after the Hammers end their Premier League campaign and before concerts at the end of June that include Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The Telegraph report that Uefa could wait until after the semi-finals on May 3-4 before making its final decision but it is an event that would clearly interest operators at the London Stadium, who have also successfully staged World Championship Athletics, the Rugby World Cup and Major League Baseball over the past decade.
What an opportunity
It isn’t the circumstances anyone wants to host their first Champions League final but you have to take any chance you get these days.
If David Moyes’ side do beat the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to the top four this season, then this season’s final would be a fantastic way to test the waters of club football’s biggest prize.

There is no doubting that the ground is capable of hosting such an event with all of the infrastructures in place from the London 2012 Olympics.
Once the season ends, however, West Ham have no say on what the operators of the stadium do before the start of the following campaign so even if the Irons owners want to see it happen, the decision isn’t theirs to make.
A decision is still a long way away from UEFA but a Champions League final at the home of West Ham does have a good ring to it.
In other West Ham news, David Moyes has Declan Rice 2.0 at the club already. he just needs to trust him.
