West Ham: Ally McCoist makes new Jarrod Bowen demand live on talkSPORT ahead of Brentford clash

West Ham United striker Jarrod Bowen has to get back among the goals if the Hammers want to get back to winning ways against Brentford, according to Ally McCoist.

The 27-year-old has been one of the of the Irons’ best players this season and started the season in excellent form, scoring 11 goals and laying on two assits for his teammates in 24 Premier League appearances.

But Bowen hasn’t found the net in seven matches now, which has coincided with West Ham’s dip in form and McCoist thinks the forward can play a big part in getting Moyes’ season back on track.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Monday (26 February, 9:44) he said: “Kalvin Philipps won’t be involved. He looks as though to me, he looks a little bit short of match practice, there’s no doubt he’s a good player. That’s going to take a little bit of time.

“Another one you mentioned, Jarrod Bowen who has been excellent for West Ham. He hasn’t scored in seven. He needs to get back to scoring again.”

Can Jarrod Bowen save David Moyes from the West Ham sack?

The pressure is rising on Moyes at West Ham with each defeat and the Scotsman needs his biggest starts to start performing to save him from the sack in the coming weeks.

While Bowen hasn’t been great in the final third in recent weeks, the England international hasn’t had much service ever since Lucas Paqueta picked up an injury in the FA Cup draw with Bristol City at the London Stadium.

Now that the Brazilian international is set to return to the fold against Brentford on Monday (26 February), Bowen might have a bit more to work with going forward and he should have plenty of chances to add to his goal tally.

Hopefully, the 27-year-old will get back among the goals on Monday night and match McCoist’s demands with an improved performance in front of goal.
