West Ham agree deal to appoint former Arsenal player after FA exit
West Ham are making further additions to their backroom team and are now set to confirm another appointment.
Julen Lopetegui’s coaching staff were also dismissed when the Spaniard departed in January after a dismal spell at the London Stadium.
West Ham replaced him with Graham Potter, who brought some of his own staff along, including former Brighton defender Bruno, and further additions are being made.
The Irons are now set to announce a new Head of Coaching and Development for their academy, and they have gone with an experienced option.

West Ham appoint Greg Lincoln to academy role
West Ham have now appointed Greg Lincoln as Head of Coaching and Development, and he will bring Premier League experience with him.
Lincoln came through the academy at Arsenal, but never appeared for them before playing in non-league football, and then returned to the Gunners as an academy coach after he retired.
Team | Years |

The 45-year-old later joined the FA in a youth coaching role, as head coach of the England under-16s, eventually moving to the under-17s.
ExWHUEmployee has told The West Ham Way (July 23) that following his exit from the FA last month, West Ham have now appointed Lincoln to the role, and he will begin work on September 1.

Lincoln has worked with top talents before
Lincoln has worked with some of England’s best talents in his time with the FA, which also saw him join the staff as England under-19s won the European Championships in 2022.
Former West Ham target Liam Delap, Jarell Quansah, and new Chelsea signing Jamie Bynoe-Gittens all worked with Lincoln in crucial years of their development, and it is hoped that he can have a strong impact in East London.
West Ham have several young talents who could reach the first team, including Freddie Potts, and Lincoln’s appointment could be a masterstroke in the long run if it aids the development of young players within Rush Green.
There has been an increased emphasis on young players being targeted in the transfer market, with Daniel Cummings joining earlier this summer from Celtic, and this is a promising sign for the future.
