West Ham ace Tomas Soucek set for ‘healthy’ pay rise amid contract talks – report
Tomas Soucek is set for a “healthy” pay rise at West Ham as negotiations continue for a new contract according to Claret & Hugh.
The Czech Republic internationals advisors are looking to secure a deal within the region of £100,000 per week to match the defensive midfielder’s importance to the team.
Talks between the club, player and his agent are expected to continue over the next few days with Soucek expected to put pen to paper if the terms are suitable.

The 26-year-old’s current deal runs out in 2024 but the Irons are eager to tie one of their star performers down to a new long-term deal at the London Stadium.
Smart
This is a very good move from the Hammers. It ensures they keep hold of one of the stalwart’s in this amazing team that the Irons currently have.
Soucek is undoubtedly one of the more important players in the squad with his absence brutally felt every time he doesn’t play.

Him and Declan Rice have bossed that midfield for the last couple of seasons and with his English counterpart’s future up in the air, it is imperative to keep hold of at least one.
It also means if any clubs do come in for him, West Ham have the luxury of naming whatever price they like with several years still running on his contract – when it is finally agreed on.
The pay rise is completely justified also. Last season the midfielder won Hammer of the year and he hasn’t taken his foot off the gas since joining from Slavia Prague in 2020.
It also eradicates the possibility of Soucek becoming disgruntled at the club and looking elsewhere for higher wages which has happened countless times.
