West Ham ace Manuel Lanzini avoids ban despite driving offences

Manuel Lanzini has had a turbulent few weeks on the road but now the West Ham attacker has managed to avoid a driving ban for more alleged offences.

According to The Sun, the 29-year-old took his Porsche Cayenne on a short journey to the chemist to pick up medicine for his wife without a British license or proper insurance.

When he was questioned by the police, he reportedly showed them his Argentinian driving license but also admitted that he should have had a British one too.

Despite the offences, he has escaped a driving ban after pleading guilty in court but he was slapped with six points on his license and a monetary fine of £1,735.

This comes after he was involved in a crash in his Mercedes on the way to training at the end of March which saw him miss a West Ham game [The Sun].

Give him assistance

That’s now two incidents while driving for Lanzini in two weeks and the club must act to give him the support he needs in whatever way possible.

Whether he needs to be educated on the rules and regulations of driving in this country or he should just be prevented from taking the wheel in future seems like the best options.

David Moyes cannot afford such a talented individual getting himself into trouble like this with such regularity at a crucial time in West Ham’s season.

Tonight sees the Irons take on Lyon in the Europa League quarter-final needing to win on French soil if they want to make it to the last four.

This incident is the last thing he wants to be dealing with right now but such is the ability at the feet of the Argentinian, he will have to get over this quickly and be ready to turn the tide in favour of the Hammers this evening.

In other West Ham news, the door is open for the Iron to swoop in and sign this mercurial talent after his manager’s bold admission.
