West Ham ace Declan Rice flirts with Manchester United move

West Ham captain Declan Rice has caused some controversy with his post-match comments following the Hammers’ clash with Manchester United.

Rice has been long linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including United [ESPN], with his £100million price tag enough to keep them at bay.

The 23-year-old’s post-match interview has caused quite a stir after Marcus Rashford fired the Reds above West Ham into fourth with a 1-0 victory.

“I was loving it. Every time I come to Old Trafford; I’ve always said it’s one of my favourite places to play. It’s an amazing stadium,” he said as per Manchester Evening News.

Take no notice

Rice’s comments are a little bit insensitive considering the transfer rumours linking him to United, but Hammers should try not to read too much into it.

Old Trafford is one of the most famous stadiums in the world and maybe Rice was simply paying tribute, but the comments have unsettled many West Ham fans.

The midfielder could have easily avoided such comments that make it look as if he is flirting with a move away from the London Stadium.

Irons can’t afford to over speculate on these fairly trivial post-match comments though. Rice has the utmost respect for the club, especially the fans, and wouldn’t dream of sending such public hints Manchester United’s way.

He gave everything on the pitch yesterday for the Hammers and does week in week out. If the fans start picking at everything, he says with a fine-tooth comb it could upset the England International.

He just needs to be allowed to play his football and feel the love and support from the fans.
