West Ham United ace Jarrod Bowen wows Sky Broadcaster with ‘lovely’ footage he saw
West Ham star Jarrod Bowen wowed Sky Sports broadcaster Dougie Critchley with his first England goal in the 5-0 hammering of the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.
Bowen was on the pitch for just 30 seconds before scoring England’s fourth of the night, with the ball in play for a remarkable three seconds before his goal.
Critchley loved the footage he saw of the Hammers skipper, posting on X after the goal (17 November).
He wrote: “You hear ‘he scored with practically his first touch,’ all the time… it’s nearly always an exaggeration.
“But Jarrod Bowen has quite literally scored with his first touch after coming on.
“Lovely goal.”
Jarrod Bowen England goal could serve huge boost for West Ham
With Bowen getting on the scoresheet for his country for the first time, his confidence levels will undoubtedly go through the roof and West Ham will benefit as a result.
Bowen has had a somewhat frustrating season so far under Julen Lopetegui and at times has looked devoid of confidence but this goal will do him the world of good.
With three goals and two assists in 11 Premier League appearances, Bowen is capable of far more than he has demonstrated at times, showcased by his wonderfully taken goal against the Republic of Ireland.

Confidence levels among the West Ham squad seem low, with the club sitting 14th having won just three games so far but the return of a rejuvenated Bowen may serve as a benefit for the entire team.
Newcastle and Arsenal are up next for the Hammers, two very tough fixtures and players will need to be at their best if the Irons are to have any opportunity of picking up a result.
