View: West Ham should move for Divock Origi in January

Former West Ham target Divock Origi could be set to leave Liverpool [Athletic] and should be on his way to east London if he does leave Merseyside.

The Reds seemed reluctant to sell the Belgian with a shortage of attacking options in their squad but with Luis Diaz set to join Anfield, the striker might be on his way out.

The Hammers are still looking to secure a back-up striker with Michail Antonio single handedly bossing the position all season long for the Irons with 17 goal involvements in all competitions.

West Ham

With this huge development breaking, David Moyes and co should be on red alert and try to steal the Champions & Premier League winner with several clubs interested.

No place better

West Ham are one of – if not – the best clubs in for Origi.

There are several clubs in for the 26-year-old, but he is likely to stay in the Premier League and surely he would rather make himself a part of David Moyes’ exciting project rather than join relegation fighters Newcastle.

The Hammers are competing for Champions League football, exceeding expectations in the league as well as the Europa League so why wouldn’t he want to join?

West Ham

He is a very talented footballer and has scored a hatful of hugely important goals for Liverpool; Jurgen Klopp didn’t dub the forward a ‘monster‘ for no reason.

It is just unfortunate for him that he is behind arguably the world’s best attackers at Anfield.

He has tonnes of experience in England and with the Belgian national team and playing regular football at West Ham could reignite the attacker’s career.

Make no mistake, the only reason the Reds are selling him is because they have better players. Not because there is anything wrong with him as Klopp has made clear on several occasions.

He is the type of player the Hammers need to attract to take the club to the next level.
