View: Forget Hugo Ekitike – West Ham must sign Divock Origi instead
With time running out, surely West Ham must sign a striker before the end of this month.
The Hammers have been linked with a move for Reims striker Hugo Ekitike [Sky Sports] but he would cost in the region of £25 million.
The 19-year-old striker is being chased by Newcastle who apparently want to sign every possible player on the planet.

Ekitike has scored eight goals in 10 Ligue 1 games this season, and it’s understandable why so many clubs are vying for his signature.
However, he is relatively inexperienced. West Ham need players who can make an impact now as getting into the top four is absolutely vital for various reasons.
What West Ham need is an experienced striker with a proven track record, preferably someone with Premier League experience who would be available for a decent price.
Step up Divock Origi.

The 31 times capped Belgium international has only a few months left on his contract.
Last month, West Ham insider ExWHUemployee claimed that the Hammers could move for Origi in January. It’s time, they should make a move now.
Origi has been at Liverpool for seven seasons, and he has got loads of Premier League experience.
He is a natural finisher and has scored crucial goals for the Reds in the Champions League.
According to reports from The Athletic, Liverpool are ready to sell him, and West Ham must pounce on it.
He is a versatile forward and would add significant depth to the squad. The move would suit all parties involved.
