
Video surfaces as violence mars build-up to West Ham clash v Dinamo Zagreb
Croatian police have arrested a number of West Ham fans ahead of their Europa League group stage opener against Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday night.
A statement on the Zagreb police force’s website confirms seven Hammers fans were arrested amid violence at a cafe ahead of the clash against Dinamo.
West Ham fan Jordan shared a short video clip of the scenes on Twitter after being sent footage by a friend in the Croatian capital. You can watch the clip on Twitter.


You can see a chair being thrown at the start of the clip as well as a skirmish between supporters.

Congratulations to the West Ham fans who have been arrested ahead of a massive match in the club’s recent history.
You probably worked really hard to pay for the tickets, the flights and your accommodation but now you’re going to miss the game due to not being able to avoid violence.
Yes, we know about the reputation that supporters of Dinamo Zagreb have but there would have been plenty of ways to avoid getting into clashes and getting arrested ahead of the game.
It’s a shame that when English football fans travel abroad, there is often reports of trouble.
At the European Championships this summer, we saw the ugly side of English football supporters and fans broke into Wembley for the final against Italy.
Honestly, it’s embarrassing for the majority of football supporters who just love the game as it is and don’t use it as an excuse for violence.
