Update emerges on West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta as Newcastle ace Sandro Tonali banned for 10 months

Sean Whetstone has issued an update on whether further action will be taken on West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta after Newcastle ace Sandro Tonali has been banned.

The SixFootTwo journalist reported on 27 October that there continues to be nothing on Paqueta about him gambling on his name or asking others to place bets on his behalf.

Furthermore, he has pled his innocence and denied any involvement which is not the case with Tonali, given his 10 month ban.

Good news

Paqueta’s case appears to be purely circumstantial and it’s not like it wasn’t looked into but there’s not much there to hold him guilty.

The likes of Ivan Toney and Tonali clearly did what they were accused of and perhaps the evidence was so strong that they could not be cleared of it.

With the Brazilian, there was none and that is likely down to the fact that there was nothing to it bar some accusations.

West Ham

Hopefully, we can move on from this and he can continue playing excellent football for the Hammers under David Moyes.

Despite being linked with a move to Manchester City and it not going through, his performances have not dipped for West Ham.

In fact, he’s taken his game to the next level and Moyes surely will be delighted at just how much he’s improved this term.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now frustrated with a £10m player as a behind-the-scenes revelation has emerged from the London Stadium.
