Two players ‘ruled out’ for West Ham United in Premier League clash v Manchester United – injury expert

West Ham United will be without two first-team players for their Premier League clash against West Ham United on Sunday [7 May], according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

David Moyes confirmed that West Ham United will be without key defender Kurt Zouma [ankle] and Gianluca Scamacca [knee] for their upcoming Premier League games.

However, Zouma should return to action before the season ends (Premier Injuries) but will miss Sunday’s game against Manchester United.

West Ham United were without were without key stars Declan Rice, Tomas Soucek and Nayef Aguerd who all fell ill hours before the clash at the Etihad.

Dinnery has pointed out that they are being assessed ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash, but they should be back against the Red Devils.

Vladimir Coufal has potentially emerged as a fresh blow for Moyes after being withdrawn with a muscular injury in their 3-0 defeat to the Citizens on Wednesday and is currently at a 25% chance of returning for Sunday.

Must-win

West Ham United may have suffered a defeat at the hands of Manchester United’s noisy neighbours City on Wednesday night [3 May] but it was an all-round performance that David Moyes will have certainly been encouraged by, especially in the first half.

The Hammers were without key stars Rice, Soucek and Aguerd who were ruled out hours before the game at the Etihad, arguably ruining their chances of claiming something from the game.

However, they are expected to be back for Sunday’s pivotal game at the London Stadium – in what is a must-win game for West Ham United if they are to all but confirm their Premier League status for next season.

They’ll be up against a Manchester United side hell-bent on securing their Champions League place but Erik ten Hag’s side are known to allow inconsistencies to creep into their game recently which may hand Moyes and his men all the encouragement they need in claiming a first home victory over the Red Devils since 2019.

It’s now three Premier League games without a win for the Hammers after enjoying a short upturn in results just under a month ago. They will be desperate to put that right come Sunday.
