Trevor Sinclair urges Liverpool to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice
Trevor Sinclair has urged Liverpool to make a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice in the summer transfer window.
The 2019/20 Premier League winners have not been the same side since their maiden top flight win and desperately have been looking for midfielders.
Jude Bellingham is understood to be on their radar and Sinclair believes that either him or Rice need to be signed by Jurgen Klopp’s men.

He told Caught Offside, “Liverpool’s entire midfield needs transforming. Stefan Bajcetic looks like a great prospect but there’s no way Jurgen Klopp can be relying on an 18-year-old week in, week out. I honestly think that anything short of three or four new midfielders in the summer, with at least one of them being either Declan Rice or Jude Bellingham, won’t be good enough.
“In my opinion, not addressing that area of the pitch would see Liverpool fail to seriously compete for several more seasons.
Bidding war
The interest in Rice is unlikely to slow down and this is probably going to be one of the hottest transfer sagas of the summer.
It seems right now that Arsenal are in the driver’s seat, but if Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, Rice could be tempted to move to Anfield as well.
Manchester United and City both could sign a new midfielder in the summer and if they’re willing to pay big money, we’re not counting them out of this as well.

The same can be said about Chelsea and it remains to be seen if Newcastle may also look to test the waters as there are no shortage of funds there either.
The real winners will only be West Ham as they can hike up his price as much as possible and make the most from his sale.
Surely they would hate selling Rice as he’s a fan favourite and their best player, but he’s earned himself a move and deserves to play in the Champions League and challenge for titles.
