Trevor Sinclair sends message to Robert Snodgrass as West Ham exit nears

Trevor Sinclair has delivered a message to Robert Snodgrass as he closes in on his West Ham United exit this week.

The Scottish winger is expected to leave the London Stadium to join fellow Premier League side West Brom to aid their survival battle.

Snodgrass is set to start a string of outgoings at the Hammers, with Sebastien Haller expected to also move to Ajax this month.

Sinclair took to his personal Twitter account to send Snodgrass a message on Thursday, claiming he has “big respect” for the veteran.

“Big respect and thanks to Robert Snodgrass in a West Ham shirt,” he wrote.

“Can’t but wish him well if he moves as speculated.”

This is a smart move from the Irons.

Snodgrass has only completed four minutes of action in the Premier League this season, despite coming off the bench three times under David Moyes.

Moyes knows he needs to offload players in order to strengthen his squad during the January window, and letting the 33-year-old leave is the right call.

Sam Allardyce confirmed on Thursday that the winger should complete his move as early as Friday, making funds available to spend.

Snodgrass earns £40,000-a-week at the London Stadium [Spotrac] and that is a lot of money for someone who has only played four minutes of football.

While we respect Snodgrass for what he has done for the Irons since joining, we also believe this is the right call at this moment in time – good luck.
