Trevor Sinclair: Current West Ham squad is the best in the Premier League era
The current West Ham United squad is the best in the Premier League era, according to Trevor Sinclair.
The Hammers won 3-2 against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon (4 December), just a month after beating Liverpool by the same scoreline.
Four months into the season, David Moyes’s side sit fourth in the Premier League table, while they have also confirmed their place in the knockout stages of the Europa League.

Writing on his Twitter account, former winger Sinclair could not have been more complimentary about the current crop of players in East London.
“This is the best Hammers squad in the PL era in my opinion” he said, followed by the hammer emoji.
High praise
It is a high praise indeed from Sinclair, particularly as the pundit was part of the other West Ham squad that could perhaps rival the current group.
In 1998-99, the club finished fifth in the Premier League with a team that included the likes of Shaka Hislop, Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard.

That stands as the Hammers’ highest league finish in the Premier League, making it the target for David Moyes’s squad to beat this year.
Moyes led West Ham to sixth last season but achieved the club’s highest ever Premier League points total of 65.
Spearheaded by Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, the team have continued going from strength to strength this season.
As well as their impressive performances in the league and in Europe, the Hammers have also knocked both Manchester clubs out of the Carabao Cup.
The sky could be their limit for the rest of the campaign.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers need to act fast to sign this 14-goal striker.
