Trevor Sinclair concerned by one West Ham man’s fitness

Trevor Sinclair believes that West Ham need to manage Michail Antonio’s workload to get the best out of him.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Irons forward also claimed that the 31-year-old could get back to his best.

Antonio has only scored one goal in his last ten games in all competitions, and he has had to play a lot of games due to the lack of an alternate striker in this West Ham side.

Speaking to talkSPORT about Antonio, Sinclair said: “I think his form is there, we’re not as strong when he doesn’t start, but they’ve got to manage him like any forward because of the cup competitions, the Europa League, they’ve got to manage him.”

Interesting stuff from Sinclair.

So, it seems as if Sinclair believes that the Irons need to manage Antonio’s workload, which might help him get back on the goal trail.

The 31-year-old started the season like a train in both the league and the Europa League, but things have slowed down a little bit for the former Nottingham Forest man.

He is still a crucial player for the Irons, and that won’t change even if he is struggling in front of goal, but perhaps, he needs a rest?

The upcoming fixture list in December is tough for the Hammers, and the games come thick and fast, so perhaps in some of them, they should rest Antonio because otherwise, he could burn out.

Also, the more games he plays, the more likely it is he suffers an injury, and that is the last thing that he or the Irons need.

In other West Ham news, the Irons have been handed a great chance to sign a South American striker on fire.
