Tottenham join race for West Ham United starlet Sonny Perkins amid contract row
Tottenham have joined the race for West Ham starlet Sonny Perkins with the striker “increasingly likely” to leave the London Stadium, according to reports by The Guardian.
The newspaper reported via their website on Thursday (9 June) that Antonio Conte’s side is set to battle Leeds United and Aston Villa for the 18-year-old’s signature after a disagreement over his wages.
The forward’s deal expires at the end of June and the Hammers are struggling to convince him to stay at the club – unwilling to break their wage structure.

Despite the hype around the youngster and his future potential, the Irons reportedly believe the youngster is asking for too much money for a new deal.
The England youth international made three senior appearances for David Moyes’ side in the 2021/22 campaign as well as being involved in 11 goals in 20 games for the U23s.
Shame.
Perkins better be asking for out of this world money if West Ham think that letting him go would be the better option.
This always seems to be the case with the east Londoners – they are too tight to splash the cash on players and in return, they lose them.

Of course, you don’t want a young player making demands and the club breaking their wage structure to meet them but if a player is good enough – which the attacker seems to be – some form of an agreement must be made.
The fact that a number of Premier League clubs are now circling shows how good he is already – Moyes knows it too otherwise he wouldn’t have backed him several times in the 2021/22 campaign.
It will be a huge shame if they miss out on Perkins, especially for free, because he looks like a real future star.
They will regret it if he bursts onto the scene in years to come after he left the Hammers on a free.
