Tottenham eye move for West Ham United ace Tomas Soucek

Antonio Conte is said to be a big admirer of West Ham stalwart Tomas Soucek as Tottenham keeps a close eye on his ongoing contract discussions, as per Claret & Hugh.

After several rounds of unsuccessful contract talks, tension has arisen between the Czech Republic international, his agents and the club.

Soucek feels that David Moyes hindered his attempt at a pay rise with the Scot believing his performance levels are not relative to the new terms the midfielder is trying to negotiate.

The 27-year-old will be open to a move away from east London should the right offer for him come in with the Irons valuing him at £40million.

Disgraceful.

Is this how West Ham treat one of their best performers over the last couple of seasons? Soucek has been a rock in the middle of the park and deserves so much more credit.

Declan Rice might pick up a lot of plaudits with his brilliance but his midfield partner plays a crucial role in freeing his colleague up as well as the way the team play.

He hasn’t quite lived up to his first season at the club when he won Hammer of the year but his performances have been excellent.

With Rice’s future very uncertain, the Irons need to come to an agreement with Soucek. They simply can’t afford to lose both of the players that are so crucial to the way Moyes’ side plays.

Tying the current stars of this squad down to new contracts is just as – if not more – important than any potential signings in the summer which is why it is imperative his contract situation is resolved.

In other West Ham news, Carlton Cole and Joe Cole were left in awe of rarely seen Hammer’s Europa League displays.
