Torino official to meet with agent of West Ham midfielder Nikola Vlasic this week

Technical Director of Serie A club Torino Davide Vagnati and the agent of West Ham United midfielder Nikola Vlasic are set to meet this week to discuss a possible transfer, according to Calciomercato.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the London Stadium in the ongoing transfer window.

As per the latest report, there is a meeting expected in Milan later this week to discuss the possibility of signing of Vlasic.

West Ham

The report further stated that Torino are willing to offer West Ham a loan plus buy option whereas the London-based club are keener on having a loan plus an obligation to buy the player.

Unhappy ending

If the development will go through, it will definitely going to be a sad end of Vlasic’s short career at the London Stadium after making a £27 million-worth move from Russian club CSKA Moscow last summer.

During his only season with the Hammers, Vlasic was extremely ineffective in the final third where in 36 appearances across all competitions, he only managed to score once and provided three assists as well [Transfermarkt].

West Ham

It is not clear what exactly went wrong for the attacking midfielder, but it is becoming clear that after a series of impressive performances during the last season, David Moyes does not fancy him anymore and would like to get him out of the door as soon as possible.

Therefore, it is now important that the Irons will use the departure of Vlasic as an opportunity to sign a player who is more suited to their style of play and strengthen the squad for the next campaign.
