Torino accelerate to close cut-price permanent deal for West Ham United misfit Nikola Vlasic

Nikola Vlasic has convinced Torino to push for the permanent signing of the West Ham man but they want a discount to do it, according to Goalist.

The Croatian arrived at the London Stadium for more than £25million two summers ago but never established himself under David Moyes and looks nailed on to leave.

He has a €15million [£13.3million] clause in his loan deal with the Serie A side to make the move permanent, and the Italians have reportedly decided they plan to keep him.

Goalist report that Torino are now going to push to get the deal completed imminently, but they want a small discount to get it done.

Vlasic isn’t far off quadrupling his league minutes from last season already, and has scored four times in 22 Serie A outings.

Cut losses

The 25-year-old doesn’t look like he has a future at West Ham barring a David Moyes sacking and a replacement having a particular liking for the loanee.

The Irons are going to make a notable loss on him either way but unless Torino are asking for an unreasonable discount it is probably best to just take the deal.

If they decide they can’t afford him or they don’t want to follow through with the permanent move it will only lumber the Hammers with a player who hasn’t settled and isn’t likely to contribute.

West Ham United

He has proven much more important for Torino than he ever did in East London so it is the better option for him as well, and it would be better to get the majority of his original fee back than risk losing the deal entirely.

Moyes’ squad has moved on with multiple attacking signings this year, although none have taken the world by storm as yet, with Maxwel Cornet missing a lot of the season injured.

If everyone could stay fit for any length of time the manager might finally settle on a plan to use them together the right way, but the chances of Vlasic returning to the equation seem very small.
