Top West Ham United source sheds light on Youssef En-Nesyri interest

West Ham United hold less than “ten per cent” interest in Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri, according to Claret and Hugh.

ExWHUemployee reported (12 January) that the Hammers had come to an agreement with Sevilla over a loan move for the 25-year-old Morocco international.

However, it’s understood En-Nesyri wasn’t too keen on the move and it’s since been suggested by Claret and Hugh (13 January) that a top West Ham source has suggested there is little to no “interest” in the striker.

En-Nesyri played a key part in Morocco’s run to the World Cup semi-final scoring a memorable header to knock Portugal out of the competition.

The links to En-Nesyri have always seemed quite far-fetched and have been largely generated by the Spanish media. He has never been close to joining the Hammers and quite frankly this is a rumour which needs to be put to bed as soon as possible.

Another striker is certainly an option for David Moyes during the January window with speculation growing over Michail Antonio’s future. It’s understood Wolves are interested in the striker who has struggled for game time so far in the 2022/23 season (talkSPORT, 10 January).

Gianluca Scamacca impressed in the recent win over Leeds United and will be looking to kick on in the second half of the campaign. It’s been a tough start to life in a claret and blue shirt but he’s certainly looked sharper of late and will undoubtedly be Moyes’ go-to striking option.

It promises to be a relatively quiet January window for the Hammers after the club invested significantly during the summer window.
