Tony Cottee impressed with David Moyes West Ham spells
West Ham United are challenging at the top end of the Premier League table under David Moyes, and Tony Cottee is delighted.
The Scot saved the Hammers from relegation before leading them to Europe last term, and they have started 2021-22 on an impressive form, with just one defeat in their opening five league games.
Cottee believes Moyes is the perfect man for the job as he knows exactly what the fans want at the London Stadium.
The West Ham legend told The Sun: “West Ham is a very special football club and the fans want something unique.
“West Ham fans want to see a certain brand of football, a certain amount of effort from the players.
“David Moyes understands that and as a result we’ve seen the sort of performances we’ve seen over the last 15 months. The biggest thing is he gets it.
“I have the utmost admiration for him as a person and a professional for what he’s done to prove people wrong.
“He had a first spell at West Ham and now he’s returned for what’s becoming a glorious second spell.”

Not many backed Moyes to turn his managerial career around after disastrous spells at Manchester United, Sunderland and Real Sociedad.
The Hammers only hired him for some months during his first spell, and not even keeping them in the league was enough to retain his services.
They brought him back and many will agree that it is one of the best decisions that GSB have made since taking over the club.
West Ham have not had a lot to spend under Moyes, but he has managed to get some brilliant signings in with the little he has been provided with, and one can only wonder how he would fare if he had a lot of financial support.
The Irons started their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia last Thursday, and advancing to the knockout stages should not be a problem.
A piece of silverware to reward his efforts would be great, and Moyes and his men will definitely be giving it their all this term.
He is the reason why the club is succeeding despite the unpopular owners, and there is still a lot to come from him going forward if they continue to back him.
