Tony Cottee fumes at David Moyes after what he did in ‘poor’ West Ham United display v Liverpool
Tony Cottee has fumed at the West Ham performance in the defeat against Liverpool on Wednesday (20 December).
Writing on Twitter on Wednesday, the pundit said that he never leaves a game early but he did during the 5-1 Carabao Cup defeat against the Reds.
He added that the team selection and substitutions were “poor” by David Moyes and that he felt “so sorry” for the 6,000 Hammers fans that made the trip to Anfield.
Not good enough
There probably weren’t too many people that expected West Ham to pick up a result against Liverpool, but they would have expected Moyes to at least try and win the game.
The Hammers boss instead decided to make six changes to his side, with a number of players that simply aren’t good enough handed a start.
The travelling fans deserved so much more than they were given at Anfield after making the trip across the country on a Wednesday night just days before Christmas.

The team Moyes selected just shows that he simply didn’t fancy his side’s chances of winning the game and that is simply unacceptable when people have paid out their hard-earned cash to be there.
It was another embarrassing performance and has well and truly put the pressure on the players to go and pick up a victory against Manchester United on Saturday (23 December) to make up for it.
