Tony Cottee delivers West Ham warning ahead of Fulham clash

Tony Cottee has delivered West Ham United a warning ahead of their Premier League clash with Fulham on Saturday.

The Irons legend believes that the Cottagers will arrive at the London Stadium bursting with confidence after their first win of the season.

Scott Parker’s men swept aside West Brom 2-0 on Monday evening and will be looking to continue that run this evening.

Speaking to the official club website, Cottee believes that it won’t be as straight forward as one would immediately think.

“Their first win over West Brom last week will have given them a big boost, though, and I’m sure they will have learned from their last experience in the top-flight,” he said.

“They have some good players and, if we are not on top of our game, they have the potential to cause us problems.

“It will be interesting to see how we line up and whether David Moyes makes any changes to his formation or personnel.”

The main threat for the Irons will obviously be Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Mitrovic has been Fulham’s main man for numerous years now and will provide a clear target for the Cottagers to hit and bring in their flair players.

The Serbian will occupy the back three, and then give space to the likes of Ademola Lookman and Bobby Reid, who once again scored on Monday.

It will be interesting to see how the Irons defend that, and the job will likely fall on Angelo Ogbonna to pick up Mitrovic and try and blunt his strength.

If you can keep him quiet, you will go a long way to beating Fulham, and that must be the priority for David Moyes.
