Tony Cascarino: David Moyes stereotypes are unfair

Tony Cascarino believes West Ham boss David Moyes is a victim of unfair stereotypes.

The former Chelsea striker was discussing footballing ideologies and managers labelled after them, live on talkSPORT.

He also made a justification for Sam Allardyce being good enough to take the Arsenal job despite his perceived style of play, and said that Moyes has also been subject to being judged about it in the past.

He said, “You can get stereotyped unfairly and it’s a shame for other managers that have faced it. You can put David Moyes into that bracket.”

One hundred percent

Moyes wasn’t a particularly popular choice around East London during both his appointments, but he’s gone on to prove all his doubters wrong.

There was this bizarre perception of him being tactically naive and not really playing a modern brand of football, which is far from the truth.

We’ve seen over the last 12 months the kind of football Hammers have played under him.

West Ham

It has resulted not just in entertainment, but also with points on the board that saw West Ham finish in the top six.

Even this season, the Hammers have started strongly, winning each of their first three games.

Moyes has been nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month as well and we believe that he should win the award.

It’s good to see the Scotsman proving people wrong and long may the good times continue.
