Tomas Souckek’s long-term West Ham future is “in doubt”
Tomas Soucek’s long-term future at West Ham is “in doubt” as David Moyes puts talks over a new contract on hold, according to reports by 90min.
The Czech Republic international is under contract at the London Stadium until 2024 having signed a four-year deal when making his move from Slavia Prague in 2020.
Despite being an “incredibly popular” member of the squad on and off the pitch, the Scot believes the midfielder doesn’t warrant a new contract.

With several rounds of contract negotiations unsuccessful so far, the midfielders’ future is not as secure as first indicated during previous talks.
Transfer insider Dean Jones previously claimed the club were taking a “massive gamble” as the last lof of talks broke down with the Hammers reluctant to meet the midfielders’ £80,000 per week wage demand.
The latest report by 90min suggests the saga is far from over as West Ham try and tie down their key midfielder.
A farce.
The fact that contract negotitiations have been allowed to go on this long is an absolute joke.
Soucek is right up there alongside Declan Rice and Jarrod Bowen as one of the most important players in this squad and he desperately needs to be treated with the same respect before it is too late.

If he feels as if he isn’t being respected enough at the club, there is nothing stopping him from looking elsewhere. His brilliant form over the last couple of seasons for the Hammers means a lot of teams would be interested in the 27-year-old.
Hopefully, the contract gets sorted sooner rather than later otherwise things might unnecessarily sour at the club.
If Soucek ends up winning the Europa League this season, he and the rest of this squad would go down as legends and the fans surely wouldn’t forgive David Sullivan and co if one of their favourites left because of the clubs’ stubbornness.
