Tomas Soucek responds to reported Bayern Munich interest after West Ham success

West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek has responded to transfer links with German giants Bayern Munich.

TEAMtalk reported over the weekend that Munich are keeping track of the 25-year-old, with the Irons set to offer their summer signing a new deal already.

Soucek has claimed he is “enjoying” his time at the London Stadium, and claimed outside interest gives him the strength to continue impressing.

Speaking to Czech outlet Sport, Soucek claimed that he will not be entertaining any deals to leave the Hammers any time soon.

“I’m at peace in West Ham and I’m enjoying the time here,” he said.

“But it’s definitely nice to read or hear, it gives me strength for matches and I’m happy for it. I’m not dealing with such offers yet.”

It’s far from convincing, and we were hoping that Soucek would come out with a more definitive answer surrounding the links with Munich.

David Moyes has built a phenomenal partnership between Soucek and Declan Rice, and it has been one of the main reasons behind this new-found success.

No other Irons player has a better average match rating on Whoscored, with his all-round game one of the best in the Premier League.

Soucek has even outperformed Rice in most areas, making more tackles, clearances and being dribbled past fewer times in the midfield.

The Czech international also attempts more shots on goal and is a real weapon for Moyes in this box-to-box role for the Irons.

Munich are right to be interested in this sort of player, but we’re hoping that Soucek sticks around for many more years at the London Stadium.
