Tomas Soucek raves about Mark Noble, shares West Ham dressing room atmosphere

Tomas Soucek has said that West Ham players are trying to be “successful” for their skipper Mark Noble.

The Czech Republic midfielder has suggested that Noble made him feel comfortable at the club when he first joined.

Soucek has also shared the atmosphere in the dressing room, saying the banter sometimes gets ruthless.

“Mark Noble really helped me settle in when I joined. We want to be successful for him in his last playing season,” said Soucek To The Times.

“He can speak about the changes at the club and what he has done has been incredible. When we ask him how long he has been here, he replies, “Many, many years.

“The banter inside a dressing room can be ruthless. The English players like, for example, to hide shoes and other clothing and upload the video of team-mates searching for them into our WhatsApp group. The group is also a good way for players who are injured or do not travel to feel included.”

Get the win

Soucek has been a key player for the Hammers this season. However, he hasn’t been as effective as he was last season.

It is probably due to a change in roles. Last season, Soucek was given more license to join the attack while Declan Rice sat back.

This season, Soucek has stayed rooted to his position while Rice has been seen carrying the ball forward. But, both the midfielders have done incredibly well.

There have been concerns over whether Soucek will be handed a new deal or not, but the midfielder has clearly suggested that he enjoys a very good relationship with David Moyes.

It was also good to see that the Hammers players want to achieve something for their skipper who is set to retire at the end of the season.

The Hammers will face German outfit Frankfurt in the semi-final first leg clash on Thursday at home, and Soucek is expected to play a big role in it.
