Tomas Soucek could get more than £120k p/w from West Ham
West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek may ask for a big wage increase upwards of £120,000 per week as he negotiates his new contract at the club, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones.
Talks have already begun between West Ham and Soucek about an improved deal that would tie him down to the London Stadium for the foreseeable future.
But the latest news that Kurt Zouma earns £125,000 per week, which was revealed when he was fined two weeks wages for abusing his pet cat [The Mirror], could see the Czech midfielder ask for even more than he had planned.

Jones suggests that Soucek may use this development to his advantage and apply pressure on the club as a result.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “The first player to really test this pay system is Soucek.
“He’s in talks now over a new deal and will surely use the information to leverage his own terms.
“He was hoping for around £120,000-a-week but will now have grounds to get that and maybe more!”
Worth it
David Moyes and the Hammers’ board have a major decision on their hands because these negotiations could define those of the rest of the playing squad.

They have to determine how important Soucek is to the team and that doesn’t take long given his almost ever-present since arriving from Slavia Prague in 2020.
Are they willing to pay north of £120,000 per week though?
If they comply with the 26-year-old’s demands, then they should prepare for every player in the squad to also arrive at the door of the boss asking for a similar increase to their pay packet and that could see the club descend into anarchy.
It’s not a jealous position to be in for any manager worth their salt but whatever occurs in these talks, Moyes needs to ensure he still has power over his players before they take over.
It’s certainly the biggest challenge of his time at the London Stadium so far, but will he come through it with the job?
In other West Ham news, these Premier League giants have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign Declan Rice.
