TNT Sports man rages at West Ham ace Vladimir Coufal after what he did v Newcastle United
TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher was absolutely raging with West Ham star Vladimir Coufal after he conceded a penalty early on against Newcastle.
The Hammers travelled to St James’ Park and it took just three minutes before right-back Coufal fouled winger Anthony Gordon and conceded a penalty.
And while commentating for the game live on TNT Sports (30 March, 12:32pm), Fletcher singled out the Czech international for criticism in the situation.
“That is ridiculously clumsy from Coufal,” he said. “It’s a painful one for Gordon, and Newcastle have a penalty very early on. He [the referee] had no alternative.
“It was an extremely clumsy challenge so early in the match from Coufal.”

David Moyes usually loves to go with experience because it reduces the risk of silly moments and bad decisions, but that’s exactly what this was from Coufal.
Gordon is someone who is known for being quick and going down under minimal contact, so someone in their thirties who has played for several seasons in the Premier League should know better than to be diving in like that.
The decision to do that not only put the team on the back foot early on in the game, but it also meant he was walking a tight-rope for much of the game because any other fouls would have seen cards come out.
He should have known better than to dive in, and with the ball going away from goal too he just had to be more patient and jockey him further away.
It eventually came back to bite the team as they crumbled to a late 4-3 defeat despite having led 3-1, and it’s these moments that are the difference at this stage of the season.
