Tim Steidten under pressure at West Ham United as Troy Deeney speaks out
Troy Deeney believes West Ham United technical director Tim Steidten should be “under pressure” due to his poor performance in the summer transfer window.
The Hammers welcomed 10 new faces to their camp in the last window and still only find themselves 14th in the Premier League.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (22 November, 12:54), Deeney shared his thoughts on Julen Lopetegui and then added of Steidten: “He should be under pressure as well.
“His resume in terms of the signings hasn’t been great.”
West Ham United have a lot of catching up to do in the Premier League
At the end of the summer window, most people were fairly impressed with the signings that Steidten made to bolster West Ham’s ranks.
It was evident after their last season with David Moyes that certain areas within the team needed bolstering if they wanted to improve their league position.
And while many exciting names, such as Jean Clair-Todibo and Crysencio Summerville, were welcomed to the club, it feels like things haven’t got much better since David Moyes was in charge.
Of course, there’s still time for things to turn around in the league unless the Spaniard is relieved of his duties prematurely.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for Lopetegui and the Hammers, but something is certain: if things don’t start improving, David Sullivan will be waving bye-bye to Lopetegui.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have learned the stance of Real Betis regarding the transfer of Guido Rodriguez.
