Tim Steidten tipped to quit West Ham as ‘private’ Liverpool leak emerges
West Ham United feel Tim Steidten may be looking for a new opportunity away from the London Stadium, according to The Times.
The newspaper reported via their website on 8 January that Steidten has been “slightly sidelined” by the Irons during the January transfer window, with David Sullivan taking on more control of transfers.
There is an impression at the London Stadium that he could be seeking an exit after being linked with Arsenal and Liverpool last year, although both clubs have “privately” denied any interest.
Karren Brady steps in for Tim Steidten in Graham Potter talks at West Ham
Steidten forged a strong relationship with Julen Lopetegui when the Spaniard initially arrived, but things quickly turned sour between the two.
The former Wolves manager was not pleased about the German transfer guru openly looking for a new head coach for West Ham, thus asking him to stay away from the training ground in his final days at the club.
However, it is a surprise that Steidten was also not involved in talks with Graham Potter as Karren Brady ironed out the final details of the contract with the Englishman [The Guardian].
There are suggestions that the former Bayer Leverkusen official could follow Lopetegui out of the club amid concerns over his transfer record.
This comes at an interesting time for West Ham as the January transfer window is in full swing and they have a new manager whose demands need to be met.

It appears Sullivan and Brady will be leading the East London outfit’s recruitment drive, with Steidten left on the fringes.
It, though, remains to be seen what the future holds for the German, with Arsenal and Liverpool denying interest in him.
