Tim Steidten jets out as lawyer negotiates West Ham exit terms

Tim Steidten has now jetted out of England ahead of his dismissal as West Ham United technical director, according to Sean Whetstone.

The Hammers insider reported via his personal X account (25 January) that the German’s lawyers were now negotiating his exit from the London Stadium.

Kyle Macauley is the man who’s set to come in and replace him with West Ham paying Chelsea around £1million to acquire his services.

“Tim Steidten remains an employee of West Ham while the terms of his compensation are negotiated by lawyers,” Whetstone wrote.

“The technical director has left the country and no longer has access to club premises or IT systems.”

West Ham are starting their new era with Graham Potter

While Graham Potter may not have got off to the best start as West Ham manager, it feels like things are taking a step in the right direction at the London Stadium now that Steidten is on his way out.

The German has been at the centre of some of the Hammers’ problems this season with his poor recruitment in the summer now coming back to hinder the Hammers.

Of course, not all of his additions were pointless with the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka managing to prove his worth on more than one occasion.

Potter needs to be given time by David Sullivan in order for his overall plan to work out the way that everyone wants it to.

And, now that he’ll have Macauley back with him, it feels likely that the duo could unearth some unpolished gems and help turn the Irons into a stronger team.

Only time will tell how things pan out but for now, things seem to be going quite well in E20.
