Tim Steidten exit: West Ham United director ‘on the brink’ of sack
Tim Steidten is “on the brink” of leaving his role at West Ham United, according to talkSPORT.
The broadcaster reported via their website on Thursday (23 January) that the arrival of recruitment analyst Kyle Macaulay from Chelsea will be the end of the German in East London.
David Sullivan made the executive decision to demote Steidten and take over the transfer decisions at the London Stadium himself while waiting for Macauley [Hammers News].
However, after falling out with both David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui, his relationship with Graham Potter will also be short-lived.
West Ham United to move on from Tim Steidten
It is hardly surprising that the Hammers have chosen to freeze Steidten out of his role – his track record speaks for itself.
When Lopetegui arrived in East London, the German was gifted a transfer war chest to build a side capable of challenging for a European finish.
However, the current search for a centre-forward after spending £27million on Niclas Fullkrug is a prime example of how poorly Steidten splashed the cash at the London Stadium.
After an approximated £120m spending spree, West Ham are rooted in the bottom half of the table and only 10 points clear of the relegation zone in January.

Potter has identified his needs for the winter transfer window to ensure the Irons are not dragged into a battle at the bottom, and Steidten has consistently proven he cannot be trusted.
Macauley on the other hand, has worked closely with Potter at Ostersunds, Swansea, Brighton and Chelsea – he understands the profile of player who will fit his philosophy in East London.
Steidten has now failed to build a working relationship with three managers – it is clear where the problem lies for West Ham.
