Tim Steidten exit: Karren Brady steps in after West Ham announcement
Karren Brady has been heavily involved in talks with Graham Potter as West Ham United prepare to announce the Englishman as their new manager, according to The Guardian.
The newspaper reported via their website on 8 January that the final details of Potter’s contract were ironed out by Brady instead of technical director Tim Steidten.
Jacob Steinberg added that the Irons, who announced Julen Lopetegui’s sacking on Wednesday (8 January) could also fire Steidten as part of a “shake-up” amid concerns over his transfer record.
Tim Steidten to follow Julen Lopetegui out of West Ham
Lopetegui would be laughing in the corner if West Ham were to announce Steidten’s departure immediately.
It is no secret that the pair were not on good terms at the London Stadium, particularly towards the end of the Spaniard’s reign.
The German transfer guru has been staying away from the Hammers’ training facility in Rush Green after tensions with Lopetegui boiled over.
However, with Lopetegui on his way out, one would expect Steidten to be heavily involved in talks over the appointment of a new manager.
Instead, Brady, who is mooted to have had a pay rise in the last financial year, took charge of the negotiations, raising question marks over the former Bayer Leverkusen official’s future.

One can also not help but imagine if this has anything to do with Potter possibly demanding the appointment of Dan Ashworth in a role similar to that of Steidten.
Potter and Ashworth achieved significant success during their time together at Brighton before they joined Chelsea and Manchester United respectively.
Ashworth is currently without a job after leaving United last month.
