Tim Steidten blocked from West Ham databases as severance package talks take place
West Ham United have “begun negotiations” over the severance package for Tim Steidten, according to the Daily Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition (25 January, page 5) that the German has been “blocked” from accessing the Hammers’ databases and has had no say on any transfers since the winter window opened.
The report adds that while Steidten may have “emerged victorious” from his battles with David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui, Kyle Macauley will be the man taking over his main duties and as such there will be no room for him in the new structure.
West Ham United are set to enter a new era with Graham Potter and Kyle Macauley
As was made clear from the new faces that West Ham welcomed to the club in the summer transfer window, things didn’t quite go to plan in regards to their recruitment.
While some players such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka have helped improve the team overall, others such as Niclas Fullkrug have been a waste of time and resources this term.
While West Ham’s lack of success in the transfer market can’t be solely blamed upon the German, the influence he had with the board and over the managers made him the main man with a target on his back.

And, now that he’s set to depart the London Stadium, it feels like the Hammers could be turning over a new leaf and perhaps moving up in the world which is all that fans could ask for.
Only time will tell if Potter and Macauley can turn things around but if they can, Potter’s appointment could end up being one of the best moves the Hammers chairman could’ve made.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have held “new negotiations” for the transfer of a Bundesliga striker.
