Tim Steidten agrees West Ham exit in bombshell Tuesday news

Tim Steidten will depart West Ham United with “immediate effect” on Tuesday after a mutual agreement was reached with both parties, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The journalist reported via X (4 February) that Steidten’s tenure at the London Stadium is set to come to an end, with his exit now “sealed” at West Ham.

A formal announcement is expected imminently after a mutual agreement was reached between the club and Steidten to terminate his contract.

Tim Steidten set for West Ham exit

His departure from London Stadium comes as little surprise given he was supposedly told to pack his bags by Karen Brady as a result of his many failed transfer dealings with West Ham.

The Irons have endured a wretched season and have regressed at an alarming rate – much of that has to be put down to his failings from a recruitment point of view.

Perhaps the biggest failing has been his dealings when it comes to strikers. Until the signing of Evan Ferguson on Deadline Day, the Hammers have lacked any identity in the final third, with a severe lack of a natural goalscorer with many multi-millions thrown away with poor signings.

His exit will allow the Hammers to start somewhat of a rebuild and perhaps change their approach when it comes to recruiting players.

One potential situation could have seen Graham Potter reunited with Dan Ashworth [Sean Whetstone], but the appointment of Kyle Macaulay remedied that.

News will undoubtedly be coming soon with his exit announcement now imminent.
