Thomas Tuchel wanted at West Ham United after contact with Liverpool and Manchester United
Tim Steidten is now championing Thomas Tuchel to replace David Moyes at West Ham in the summer, according Graeme Bailey.
The journalist reported for The Boot Room’s website on 24 April that the German former Chelsea boss is preferred choice of his compatriot at the London Stadium, with the pair previously due to work together at Stamford Bridge before the manager was sacked last season.
Tuchel is said to be “very keen” on a return to the Premier League and is “of interest” to the Hammers as he closes in on an exit from Bayern Munich in the summer.
The Champions League winner has reportedly contacted both Liverpool and Manchester United over possible positions in the North West but a switch to East London is now emerging as a possibility where Steidten would “love” to bring him in.
Bayern Munich boss to replace David Moyes at West Ham?
Tuchel has the credentials to be an impressive appointment at the London Stadium, allowing for his difficult season at the Allianz, and if the Hammers were able to bring him in despite his interest in openings at Anfield and Old Trafford it would be a coup.
But whether Steidten can convince David Sullivan and Tuchel at the same time remains to be seen, with the West Ham chairman also said to be unconvinced by another prominent option in ex-Wolves and Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui.
Ruben Amorim has already held talks with the club after jetting in from Portugal this week, but the meeting seemingly wasn’t positive and he has already now been all but ruled out [Fabrizio Romano, 24 April].

With the activity around a replacement having exploded over the past week it would surely be a huge surprise if Moyes was kept on after the expiry of his current contract.
But that hasn’t yet been ruled out, and in light of the unpredictable nature of the past 18-months at the club it could still feasibly be possible.
Tuchel is sure to feel he has unfinished business in England given his shock departure from Chelsea just months after the Todd Boehly-led takeover, and little over a year after he had led them to the Champions League win, so if West Ham could get him it could be an excellent move.
