Thomas Tuchel ready for Premier League return as West Ham United want new manager

Tim Steidten is keeping a very close eye on Thomas Tuchel as West Ham United look for their next manager, according to Florian Plettenberg.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim is still top of the list of the London Stadium, despite talks ending negatively.

Tuchel is leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season and is said to be held in high regard by Steidten, with the German open to a Premier League return.

West Ham United to appoint Thomas Tuchel?

Given that Amorim is still very unlikely to move to the London Stadium after admitting his regret over recent talks with David Sullivan, Tuchel could be the next best thing.

Despite failing at Munich in the Bundesliga, the German could still end this season with another Champions League after his success at Chelsea.

So many names are appearing with each passing day as David Moyes prepares to leave the club, with Julen Lopetegui and Paulo Fonseca also mentioned.

Amorim still being top of the list is interesting though, and after the latest updates, talks for that would definitely not start until the summer.

Sullivan may want his next manager signed off early to give them the most time to plan things and put transfers in place to go into the new era.

There are many twists and turns to come in the weeks that follow, with no certainty over who could be next in charge of the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, an early transfer approach has been made to sign a new winger.
