Thomas Soucek will be at West Ham for next three years

Thomas Soucek is still on course to sign a new West Ham deal despite recent rumours.

According to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, Soucek would be prepared to walk away from the negotiating table if he is unsatisfied with the club’s latest offer.

However, Claret and Hugh have revealed that it isn’t the case and the player will stay for another three years irrespective of his contract situation.

Claret and Hugh write: “However, there is no question he will be offered close to £100k plus appearances and other clauses which will be a major advance on his personal terms.

“Our insider said: ‘We are looking at all key players at the end of the season. Tomas has over three years to go including our option’.”

Big player

The Czech Republic international has been a key player for David Moyes’s side and getting him on a new deal would be fantastic.

The 26-year-old joined the Hammers from Slavia Prague in January 2020 and helped the club to a fifth-place finish last season.

He is a vital cog in the machine and works as a perfect midfield partner for England midfielder Declan Rice. Together, they have formed a great partnership.

He may not have scored much as he did last season, but his overall display has been really impressive.

Unlike the previous season, he has resisted the urge to join attack frequently and has helped maintain balance. Also, his assured presence has seen Rice taking more risks this season when he is a natural defensive midfielder.

West Ham are also trying to secure a long-term deal for Rice, but as of now, there hasn’t been enough progress in that area.
