Thomas Frank reacts to Moyes and Zanka grappling over ball in Brentford 2-1 v West Ham

Thomas Frank has reacted after David Moyes was involved in an incident with Mathias Jorgensen during West Ham United’s loss to Brentford.

The Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Bees at the London Stadium on Sunday, with Jarrod Bowen’s 80th-minute equaliser yielding nothing in the end.

Bryan Mbeumo put Brentford in the lead 20 minutes into the game, and as West Ham attempted to draw level in the second-half, Zanka opted to run down the clock during a throw-in.

Moyes was having none of it, though, attempting to get the ball back for his side and grappling with the Bees ace.

Asked after the game what he thought of the scenario, the Brentford boss said (as shared by Football Daily Twitter account): “I think it was just a manager that I respect massively outside of the technical area trying to get the ball.

“I don’t think there is too much fuss in that.”

Passion

Moyes hardly gets involved with opposition players, but he clearly wanted to get something out of this game while there was still time.

Unfortunately, Yoane Wissa left it late to condemn the Hammers to their second league defeat of the season, and the Scot would have been disappointed with how things went heading into the break.

West Ham have lost narrowly to Manchester United and Brentford, with some late incidents having a huge say on the result of both games.

They failed to see things out at the London Stadium, and it cost them in the end.

That needs to improve after the international break, and with most of the players set to fully rest and return refreshed, things could change massively as the Irons look to regain momentum after just one win in five league games.

West Ham saw many of their players struggle to replicate the brilliant individual performances we have seen from them this term, but the much-needed break should come in very handy.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign English sensation with 18 goals/assists in 20/21.
