‘This is the only thing that will make David Sullivan leave West Ham after scandalous latest’

David Sullivan is the most unpopular man in E20 at the moment.

West Ham fans will protest against Sullivan as thousands of supporters prepare to boycott the Monday Night Football against Brentford on 20 October.

The London Stadium has caused issues with Hammers fans due to its lack of atmosphere and the distance between the crowd and the pitch.

With Sullivan still at the helm, Simon Jordan has claimed that the 76-year-old won’t leave under any condition unless one thing happens.

David Sullivan’s stance won’t budge despite fan protests

Sullivan’s position at West Ham is under scrutiny as fans continue to voice their discontent over his reign at the club.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 15 October, Jordan made it clear that there is only one reason why Sullivan might contemplate leaving, even taking his side on some matters.

He said: “The only thing that will take Sullivan out of the door is if someone comes in with the right amount of money.

“Fans have a sense of entitlement, and some of the things Sullivan has been subjected to are scandalous.”

Danny Murphy disagreed with Jordan’s opinion and believes that the fan boycott could have an impact on Sullivan’s thinking.

He argued: “Consistent protest and discontent for any owner is uncomfortable, and it will make Sullivan think about stepping down.”

Nuno Espirito Santo’s first home game in charge of the Hammers will see thousands of empty seats, as fan groups continue to put pressure on Sullivan.

Further West Ham protests have been planned for the home match against Newcastle, and this is not an issue that will go away for as long as he is in charge.

Sullivan and Karren Brady are remaining strong in their belief that they can build the club back to where it should be competing; however, the increasing unrest could prove to be pivotal in the long-term future.

Despite winning the Europa Conference League in 2023, Sullivan’s time at West Ham has been perceived as a big failure.

David Sullivan must step down if fan protests continue

An argument could be made that he should resign or put West Ham up for sale now, yet that clearly won’t happen.

However, if the London Stadium continues to get emptier, he may be left with no choice due to financial reasons.

The move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016 is at the centre of all of West Ham’s issues, and there is no easy fix for the supporters.

In the view of supporters, Sullivan is holding the club hostage, and if scenes in E20 can become any more toxic than they already are, Sullivan must do the right thing.
