This is the appointment David Sullivan is being pushed to make at West Ham
Graham Potter’s position at West Ham remains in the balance after the 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
West Ham have been speaking with potential replacements for Potter over the last week, with relegation becoming a real possibility this season.
David Sullivan is taking his time deciding whether to sack Potter, which risks managerial candidates being appointed elsewhere.
Fans have been left surprised by the delay of sacking Potter and finding a replacement, although there is still a week to go until the next match against Everton.

West Ham chiefs push for David Sullivan to sack Graham Potter
West Ham fans lined the streets in protest against Sullivan before the defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Hammers hierarchy will be hoping to get supporters back on side with a possible change of manager, which is likely to occur after the game against Everton.
Nuno Espirito Santos had been lined up by West Ham, but according to The Guardian, the Portuguese manager is happy to turn down the Hammers if they don’t meet his wage demands.
- Graham Potter has won just one game from six this season
- The Hammers have conceded three or more goals in four games this campaign
- They currently have the worst defensive record in the Premier League, with 13 goals conceded
Nuno isn’t open to a short-term deal in East London.
The report adds that many at West Ham want Potter sacked, with some figures around Sullivan pushing for him to turn to Slaven Bilic and ask the Croatian to step in until the end of the season.
The Irons are keen to recruit a manager with plenty of Premier League experience who has the ability to get them out of a potential relegation fight.
Slaven Bilic won’t get West Ham fans back on side
Reappointing a former Hammers favourite might seem like it will get supporters back on side, but really it will likely have the opposite affect.
Since leaving the London Stadium in 2017, Bilic has had five different unsuccessful spells in six years at five different clubs.
The way he left East London put a sour taste in supporters’ mouths, but they would be able to override these feelings should the Croatian get results.
However, given his record, Bilic is unlikely to do well for West Ham, having managed a win percentage of just 36 per cent during his last job with Al-Fateh.
Should Sullivan appoint him, the businessman faces the potential of having even more supporters on his back should results continue in the same vein.
