Thilo Kehrer could complete £12m West Ham United exit to help fund striker transfer
West Ham United are set to ask for £12million to allow Thilo Kehrer to depart the London Stadium either this January or in the summer, according to Claret and Hugh.
The outlet reported on its website on Thursday (23 November) that the Hammers may well look to sell the German in the upcoming transfer windows in an attempt to raise money to help fund the purchase of a new centre forward.
Kehrer’s contract in East London runs until 2026, with the Irons holding the option to extend the deal by another two years, allowing them to ask for a considerable fee above the £10million they spent to sign him.

The 27-year-old has fallen behind Konstantinos Mavropanos in the pecking order and should West Ham decide to entertain bids he will join the likes of Ben Johnson, Aaron Cresswell and Pablo Fornals on the list of players allowed to depart the London Stadium.
Not quite worked out
There was plenty of excitement when Kehrer arrived at West Ham, as there often is when a team signs a player from a club as big as PSG, but for whatever reason the German has never been able to really establish himself consistently in David Moyes’ side.
Last season saw him make 25 starts in the Premier League, but this season the 27-year-old has only made three cameo appearances from the bench in the league, instead restricted to starts in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.

There is plenty of quality in the Irons’ backline already and it is clear that Moyes prefers the likes of Mavropanos, Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd to the German, while Vladimir Coufal has been an ever-present this season at right back.
West Ham lack quality in the number nine position and if players need to be sold to bring in a new striker either in January or this summer, it may be worth letting somebody like Kehrer depart. If he isn’t featuring regularly at 27, he’s unlikely to beak through anytime soon.
If the Hammers are also able to turn a tidy profit on the defender, it will be an excellent piece of business all things considered.
