Thierry Nevers should return to West Ham U-23s action soon
West Ham attacker Thierry Nevers is expected back in U-23s action soon after picking up a knock recently, claims Roshane Thomas.
The Hammers did not sign a recognised first-team forward this summer, but signed the 19-year-old who went straight into the U-23s side where he has started the season strongly.
He’s scored two goals in as many games in Premier League 2 and has scored once in every 19 minutes he’s been on the field.

Given Michail Antonio’s injury worries, a Hammers fan asked Thomas on The Athletic’s Q&As as to why Nevers wasn’t part of the first team squad in the Jamaica international’s absence.
The Athletic correspondent responded, “Thierry Nevers is out with a knock. He should be back soon for the under-23s.”
Good backup
Nevers is a quality young attacker who could go to the next level at the London Stadium.
He did not arrive with too much fanfare as many expected a senior centre forward to be signed, but Nevers could prove to be a revelation in the coming months.

Given how he’s started the campaign for the Under-23s, we’re in no doubt as to the type of player he is, and would it not have been for his injury, he could’ve made his senior bow by now.
Against Manchester United on Wednesday, the team was crying out for someone to lead the line and Nevers could have been thrown in during the latter stages of the game.
He moved to the London Stadium in the stadium highly recommended, and was referred to as “Quick, skilful and possessing a razor-sharp eye for goal” by the club’s official website after he was announced as an Irons player.
Hopefully, he soon begins training with the first team and makes his debut in the coming weeks.
