Terem Moffi misses Lorient match as West Ham United make transfer approach for Ligue 1 ace
West Ham are still in the hunt to sign Lorient striker Terem Moffi who missed the last game against Bastia through “illness”, as reported by L’Equipe.
The 23-year-old striker is also being chased by Premier League rivals Southampton. The Ligue 1 club are demanding a fee of around £26.3m for the forward.
Moffi has been in great form this season, scoring 12 goals in 17 starts in the league.

Unlikely
Moffi would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers, no doubt, but it looks highly unlikely that they will move for him.
The Hammers have already added a new striker to their ranks in the January window. Danny Ings has joined from Aston Villa, and chances are unlikely that the club will sign any more strikers, even if Michail Antonio is allowed to leave.
Antonio has been linked with a move to Wolves [Alex Crook, January 10], but the 32-year-old started the previous game for the Hammers against Everton.

He is an experienced striker and David Moyes needs his senior players to step up and help the club get out of this current mess.
Gianluca Scamacca is out injured but he is expected to be back within the next month. So, Moyes will have plenty of options, and as such Moffi won’t be required.
In the summer, however, the club could look to bolster that area if Moyes feels that Antonio needs to be replaced.
